BuildSkills Australia has appointed Linda Roberts to the role of National Manager – Water Sector Industry Engagement.
Linda brings over 15 years of experience in planning, infrastructure, asset management, and strategic delivery within the Australian water sector. Her previous roles include senior leadership positions at Mackay and Isaac Regional Councils, as well as with the Queensland Water Directorate (qldwater) where she served as Acting CEO and led key initiatives in regional collaboration and skills development.
Chief Executive Officer Brett Schimming said Linda’s experience and knowledge of the water industry will support BuildSkills' engagement and workforce planning functions. “Linda’s leadership across technical, strategic and operational domains in the water sector makes her well-positioned to strengthen our engagement nationally,” he said.
Linda has worked across regional alliances and government partnerships, planned and delivered water infrastructure project, all contributing to deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing the water sector.Her experience combines policy insight, on-ground delivery, and strategic planning.
“I look forward to continuing conversations with water sector organisations and stakeholders to help BuildSkills shape workforce strategies that reflect the needs of industry and regional communities,” Ms Roberts said.
